Strengthening New Leaders in Public Education Through the Emerging School Business Leaders Scholarship

U.S. Communities Supports New Leaders in Education

School business officials make procurement decisions every day that affect their school systems. From school buses to classroom furniture, athletic equipment to utility vehicles, school business officials are responsible for securing the major resources students, staff, and teachers depend on each day.

U.S. Communities supports these dedicated officials by partnering with the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) to help those new to the profession access the solutions and connections they need to guide their districts forward.

By sponsoring the Emerging School Business Leaders Scholarship, U.S. Communities enables ASBO International to award 18 individuals who have been in the profession for five years or less with $2,000 to attend ASBO International’s Annual Meeting & Expo. Attending this event keeps education’s financial managers on the cutting edge of school business by introducing them to products and practices that can revolutionize student success. Not only does the scholarship help equip these emerging leaders by offering funding to attend the meeting, it also connects recipients to an irreplaceable network of peers who are dedicated to encouraging and supporting each other as they develop their careers.

Sponsoring the Emerging School Business Leaders Scholarship allows U.S. Communities to play a role in raising up new leaders in the profession who are knowledgeable about procurement and who can make the best decisions for their students.
