Many of our green products feature zero VOCs, pre- and post-consumer recycled content, 100 percent recyclability, and high reflectivity among other sustainable attributes. TAPCO manufactures and distributes products Eco friendly solutions for Traffic and Parking control. The TAPCO BlinkerSign® line of LED-enhanced signs are available standard with Solar power. In addition to savings on electricity, there is no need for costly trenching when installing BlinkerSign® systems. Our vast assortment of distributed traffic control products contain many products that are solar powered, reusable or made entirely or partially from recycled materials. Our U-Channel sign posts alone account for truckloads of recycled non-ferrous steel. The vast majority of our speed bumps, humps and rubber bases are made from recycled rubber tires.
Both BI Incorporated (BI) and our parent company, The GEO Group, Inc. (GEO), are active in maintaining and improving our environmentally-friendly business practices. We currently operate six facilities designed to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver standards, as well as a LEED Gold-certified building.
BI is voluntarily compliant with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) and the Restriction on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive, helping ensure we minimize our environmental impact. All +of BI’s products are recycled, including batteries, circuit boards, straps, and casings, and are shipped in recyclable packaging that can be used 3 to 4 times longer than cardboard shipping materials.
We buy products that are free from ODC’s (Ozone Depleting Chemicals), lead and other harmful substances. BI is also WEEE compliant, allowing all customers to return waste or obsolete electrical components for controlled disposal.
