When it's time to replace auto batteries, it's important to recycle your old one. That's because auto batteries are basically made from three elements: acid, plastic, and lead. Improper disposal of batteries can have dangerous consequences for people's health and the environment alike. Chemicals and heavy metals found in batteries can seep into soil and contaminate groundwater, streams, and lakes. When batteries are burned, noxious substances pollute the air. Fortunately, it's easy to be green. We have a recycling program here at Advance Auto Parts and Carquest locations. Simply drop off your old battery (or give it to your Commercial Account Manager on their next visit) at any of our stores (most vehicles, most locations, unless prohibited by law) and we'll take care of the rest.
Do you have out-of-service uniforms that are being replaced? Instead of throwing them in the trash, let the Cintas Uniform Recycling Service* securely recycle your worn and unusable uniforms for you. Once your out-of-service uniforms are shipped to a Cintas Distribution Center, they are then transferred to our recycling partner, Leigh Fibers, Inc. Here, the uniforms are processed and recycled into automobile insulation and carpet padding material. Beyond the benefits to you, this process offers invaluable benefits to our environment.
*An additional fee does apply to the service. The fee covers transportation and processing of the uniforms. Emblems cannot be recycled and need to be removed in advance.
