Office Depot and U.S. Communities Announce Simplified Pricing Structure on Office Supplies Contract Administered by U.S. Communities
Office Depot will introduce a simplified pricing plan for the more than 16,000 office supply items currently offered to public agencies nationwide through the Office Depot contract administered by U.S. Communities. The lead agency on this contract is Los Angeles County.
While the Office Depot contract today provides great value to public agencies, it offers customers two plans to choose from, each with different pricing structures, which can sometimes cause confusion and misunderstanding for participating customers. In cooperation with U.S. Communities, Office Depot is proactively implementing a simplified pricing structure to alleviate potential confusion and enable customers to more easily determine the value of this program.
Office Depot’s new pricing plan is intended to eliminate any confusion that may result from existing options, tiers and product categories and instead provide fixed contract prices for Office Depot catalog items for a set period of time, helping customers to easily verify purchases against the fixed contract pricing for enhanced transparency and accountability. There will also be a fixed discount for certain special order items and any items not contained in Office Depot’s catalog. Under the new plan, every customer will pay the same price for each contracted office supply item.
U.S. Communities participants purchasing office supplies through Office Depot will transition to this fixed pricing plan effective approximately March 30, 2009. During the transition period leading up to March 30th, U.S. Communities participants will receive additional information from Office Depot to answer questions about this new plan and ensure a seamless transition.
