MRSA refers to Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) bacteria. It's a strain of staph that has become resistant to the broad-spectrum antibiotics commonly used to treat it. MRSA is now one of today's "superbugs," resistant to all but the most powerful treatments.
